# Remove contact from segment

> Remove an existing Resend contact from one segment.

`removeContactFromSegment` removes membership without deleting the contact.

import { removeContactFromSegment } from "automate.ax/resend"

export default automation("Remove Resend segment member", () => {
  removeContactFromSegment({
    contactId: "person@example.com",
    segment: "Customers",
  })
})
```

`contactId` is an ID or email and `segment` is an exact name or ID. Optional
`account` selects the binding. Returns `{ deleted: boolean; segmentId: string }`.
The contact remains in Resend and retains memberships in other segments.
