# Update contact topics

> Update topic subscriptions for a Resend contact.

`resend.updateContactTopics({ contactId, topics })` accepts a contact ID or email address and one or more `{ id, subscription }` updates. `subscription` is `opt_in` or `opt_out`. The output identifies the contact and updated topic choices.
