# On Resend email opened

> Start an automation when Resend records an email open.

`onResendEmailOpened` emits `email.opened` for tracked opens. Open tracking can
be affected by privacy proxies, image blocking, and automated scanners, so treat
it as an engagement signal rather than proof a person read the message.

```ts automations/record-resend-open.automation.ts theme={null}
import { automation } from "automate.ax"
import { onResendEmailOpened } from "automate.ax/resend"
export default automation("Record Resend opens", () => {
  const opened = onResendEmailOpened()
  opened.transform(({ createdAt, data }) => ({
    createdAt,
    emailId: data.email_id,
  }))
})
```

Optional static `account` defaults to the project binding. Returns
`{ type: "email.opened"; createdAt; data }`, with provider-native email,
recipient, and tracking context inside `data` when available.
