# Close group direct message

> Close a multi-person Slack direct message.

`slack.closeGroupDirectMessage` closes the installed bot's view of a group direct message.

## Example

```ts automations/close-group-direct-message.automation.ts theme={null}
import { automation, onDashboardRun } from "automate.ax"
import { slack } from "automate.ax/slack"

export default automation("Close group direct message", () => {
  onDashboardRun({ title: "Close group direct message" })

  slack.closeGroupDirectMessage({ conversationId: "G01234567" })
})
```

## Inputs

Requires the group direct-message `conversationId`.

## Output

Returns `alreadyClosed`, which is true when Slack reports that no state change was needed. Requires `mpim:write`.
