# On pin added

> Run an automation when an item is pinned in Slack.

`slack.onPinAdded` emits `pin_added` events for conversations visible to the installed bot.

import { slack } from "automate.ax/slack"

export default automation("Watch Slack pins", () => {
  const pin = slack.onPinAdded()
  // Use pin.item to add the pinned item to a Slack archive.
})
```

The result includes `conversationId`, `userId`, the typed provider `item` and `event`, and the complete `envelope`. Slack may also include pin-count and pinned-item metadata on the provider event.
