# Update Job

> Updates the title or tip eligibility of a job.

`square.updateJob` updates the title or tip eligibility of a job.

## Example

```ts automations/square-update-job.automation.ts theme={null}
import { automation, onDashboardRun } from "automate.ax"
import { square } from "automate.ax/square"

export default automation("Update Square Job", () => {
  onDashboardRun({ title: "Update Square Job" })

  square.updateJob({
    jobId: "job_id",

      title: "Cashier 1",
      isTipEligible: true,
    },
  })
})
```

## Inputs

Every input accepts a compatible signal. It requires `EMPLOYEES_WRITE`.

| `job`   | `Square.Job` | Yes      | —       | The job with the updated fields, either `title`, `is_tip_eligible`, or both. Only changed fields need to be included in the request. Optionally include `version` to enable optimistic concurrency control. |

## Output

Returns the official `Square.UpdateJobResponse` response as a codec-safe object. Square integer money amounts remain `bigint` values.
