# On Customer Updated

> An attribute on a customer profile is changed, except for the segment_ids field.

`square.onCustomerUpdated` subscribes to `customer.updated` for the selected seller. It requires `CUSTOMERS_READ`.

## Example

```ts automations/square-on-customer-updated.automation.ts theme={null}
import { automation } from "automate.ax"
import { square } from "automate.ax/square"

export default automation("onCustomerUpdated", () => {
  const event = square.onCustomerUpdated()

  // Send event to the Square-aware order, CRM, or messaging action you use.

```

## Event

An attribute on a customer profile is changed, except for the segment\_ids field.

The signal resolves to the official `Square.CustomerUpdatedEvent` payload with `type` narrowed to `customer.updated`.
