# On Dispute State Updated

> The state of a dispute changed. This includes the dispute resolution (WON or LOST) reported by the bank. The event data includes details about what changed.

`square.onDisputeStateUpdated` subscribes to `dispute.state.updated` for the selected seller. It requires `PAYMENTS_READ`.

## Example

```ts automations/square-on-dispute-state-updated.automation.ts theme={null}
import { automation } from "automate.ax"
import { square } from "automate.ax/square"

export default automation("onDisputeStateUpdated", () => {
  const event = square.onDisputeStateUpdated()

  // Send event to the Square-aware order, CRM, or messaging action you use.
})
```

## Event

The state of a dispute changed. This includes the dispute resolution (WON or LOST) reported by the bank. The event data includes details about what changed.

The signal resolves to the official `Square.DisputeStateUpdatedEvent` payload with `type` narrowed to `dispute.state.updated`.
