# On Gift Card Updated

> A gift card was updated. The balance_money , state , and customer_ids fields of a gift card can be updated through a gift card activity or when a customer is linked or unlinked.

`square.onGiftCardUpdated` subscribes to `gift_card.updated` for the selected seller. It requires `GIFTCARDS_READ`.

## Event

A gift card was updated. The balance\_money , state , and customer\_ids fields of a gift card can be updated through a gift card activity or when a customer is linked or unlinked.

The signal resolves to the official `Square.GiftCardUpdatedEvent` payload with `type` narrowed to `gift_card.updated`.
