# Close dispute

> Close a Stripe dispute and accept it as lost.

Use `stripe.closeDispute` only when you intend to stop contesting a dispute. Closing is irreversible.

## Inputs

`disputeId` is required. `idempotencyKey` is optional.

## Output

Returns the closed dispute with its resulting status.
