# Delete invoice item

> Delete a pending or draft Stripe invoice item.

Use `stripe.deleteInvoiceItem` to remove an item before its invoice closes.

```

## Inputs

`invoiceItemId` is required. Stripe rejects deletion after the invoice closes. `idempotencyKey` is optional.

## Output

Returns Stripe's deleted invoice-item tombstone.
