# Mark invoice as bad debt

> Close an open Stripe invoice as bad debt without voiding it.

Use `stripe.markInvoiceUncollectible` to close an open Stripe invoice as bad debt without voiding it.

## Example

  stripe.markInvoiceUncollectible({ invoiceId: "in_123" })

```

## Inputs

`invoiceId` is required, and the invoice must be open. `idempotencyKey` is optional.

Inputs use camel case and accept compatible signals. Automate.ax converts provider fields to Stripe's wire format. Metadata keys remain unchanged.

## Output

Returns the Stripe Invoice with `status: "uncollectible"`. Output fields use camel case. Nested Stripe decimal fields such as `quantityDecimal` are lossless strings.
