# Update customer

> Update contact, billing, tax, shipping, or metadata fields on a Stripe customer.

Use `stripe.updateCustomer` to update contact, billing, tax, shipping, or metadata fields on a Stripe customer.

## Example

  stripe.updateCustomer({

```

## Inputs

`customerId` is required. Supply only fields to change. `idempotencyKey` is optional.

Inputs use camel case and accept compatible signals. Automate.ax converts provider fields to Stripe's wire format. Metadata keys remain unchanged.

## Output

Returns the updated Stripe Customer. Output fields use camel case. Nested Stripe decimal fields such as `unitAmountDecimal` are lossless strings.
