# Update invoice

> Update collection, payment, tax, display, or metadata fields on a draft Stripe invoice.

Use `stripe.updateInvoice` to update collection, payment, tax, display, or metadata fields on a draft Stripe invoice.

## Example

import { stripe } from "automate.ax/stripe"

export default automation("Update invoice", () => {
  onDashboardRun({ title: "Update invoice" })

  stripe.updateInvoice({ invoiceId: "in_123", description: "August services" })

```

## Inputs

`invoiceId` is required. Most fields are mutable only while the invoice is a draft. `idempotencyKey` is optional.

Inputs use camel case and accept compatible signals. Automate.ax converts provider fields to Stripe's wire format. Metadata keys remain unchanged.

## Output

Returns the updated Stripe Invoice. Output fields use camel case. Stripe decimal fields such as `quantityDecimal` are lossless strings.
