# Create folder

> Creates a top-level or nested folder in a Tally workspace.

`tally.createFolder` creates a top-level or nested folder in a Tally workspace.

## Example

```ts automations/tally-create-folder.automation.ts theme={null}
import { automation, onHttpRequest } from "automate.ax"
import { tally } from "automate.ax/tally"

export default automation("Create folder", () => {
  onHttpRequest({ scope: "automation" })

  tally.createFolder({
    workspaceId: "workspace-id",
    name: "Quarterly surveys",
    parentId: "parent-folder-id",
  })
})
```

## Inputs

`workspaceId` and a non-empty `name` are required. Omit `parentId` for a top-level folder.

Pass `account` to select a named Tally connection.

## Output

Returns the created folder.

Tally folders require a Pro subscription.
