# On chat message updated

> Runs when a chat message is updated.

`teams.onChatMessageUpdated` subscribes to Microsoft Graph change notifications.

## Example

```ts automations/teams-on-chat-message-updated.automation.ts theme={null}
import { automation } from "automate.ax"
import { teams } from "automate.ax/teams"

export default automation("On chat message updated", () => {
  const event = teams.onChatMessageUpdated({ chatId: "chat-id" })
  return event
})
```

## Options

Pass `{ chatId: "chat-id" }`. `chatId` is the opaque provider ID. Optional `account` selects a Microsoft binding.

## Event

Runs when a chat message is updated. The event includes `changeType`, `resourceType`, `resourceId`, contextual team/channel/chat IDs, and normalized `data` when Graph still exposes the resource. Deletions are ID-only tombstones.

Teams subscriptions are short-lived and Automate.ax renews them automatically.
