# On card archived

> Start an automation when a Trello card is archived.

`onTrelloCardArchived` matches a card update whose `closed` state changes from `false` to `true`. Reopened cards do not match.

import { onTrelloCardArchived } from "automate.ax/trello"

export default automation("Watch Trello archives", () => {
  onTrelloCardArchived({ board: "board-id" })
})
```

`board` is required and accepts an ID, short link, or URL. Optional static `account` defaults to the project binding.

Returns the normalized card-event signal; `card.closed` is `true` when supplied. Archive activity also matches [On card updated](/reference/integrations/trello/triggers/on-card-updated).
