# Update delivery

> Changes notes, windows, coordinates, barcodes, or tip on an Uber Direct delivery.

`uber.updateDelivery` edits a delivery that is already in progress and returns the updated delivery.

`deliveryId` is required. `pickup` accepts `notes`, `readyAt`, `deadlineAt`, and `barcodes`. `dropoff` also accepts `latitude` and `longitude`. `manifestReference` replaces the reference shown to the courier.

Uber allows each change only during part of the delivery:

* Pickup notes, dropoff coordinates, and `manifestReference` can change until the courier is about to arrive at pickup.
* Time windows can change until the courier completes the pickup.
* Dropoff notes can change until the courier is about to arrive at the dropoff.
* Barcodes can change until the courier is about to arrive at that waypoint.
* `tip` sets a new total tip in cents. Uber accepts only increases, from the time the courier starts the dropoff until three weeks after completion.

Uber returns `invalid_params` when a field can no longer change.
