# On delivery picked up

> Starts an automation when an Uber courier picks up the order.

`uber.onDeliveryPickedUp` takes no filters. It starts when the courier completes the pickup: status `pickup_complete`.

```ts automations/delivery-picked-up.automation.ts theme={null}
import { automation, sendEmail, t } from "automate.ax"
import { uber } from "automate.ax/uber"
export default automation("Notify on pickup", () => {
  const event = uber.onDeliveryPickedUp({})
  sendEmail({
    to: "*",
    subject: t`Order ${event.delivery.manifest?.reference} picked up`,
    text: t`Expected dropoff: ${event.delivery.dropoffEta}`,
  })
})
```

The event includes `id`, `deliveryId`, `customerId`, `status`, `liveMode`, `created`, and the full `delivery` with its courier, waypoints, ETAs, and fee. Uber can move a delivery to `dropoff` almost immediately afterward, so treat this as the moment the order left the store.

Requires an Uber Direct connection with a webhook signing key and a dashboard webhook that sends `event.delivery_status`. See [Connect Uber Direct](https://docs.automate.ax/reference/integrations/uber/index.md#connect-uber-direct).
