# Update project

> Update common Vercel project and build settings.

`updateVercelProject` changes selected fields on one project.

```ts automations/update-vercel-project.automation.ts theme={null}
import { automation } from "automate.ax"
import { updateVercelProject } from "automate.ax/vercel"
export default automation("Update Vercel project", () => {
  updateVercelProject({
    project: "docs-site",
    settings: { buildCommand: "bun run build", outputDirectory: "dist" },
  })
})
```

`project` is the ID or current name. Optional `name` renames it. `settings` has the same fields as project creation and defaults to `{}`; omitted fields remain unchanged. Optional `teamId` overrides the OAuth installation team. The output is Vercel's complete typed updated-project response.
