# Create collection item

> Creates one or more staged CMS items in a collection.

`webflow.createCollectionItem` creates one or more staged CMS items in a collection.

## Example

## Inputs

Every input accepts a compatible signal. It requires the `cms:write` OAuth scope.

| `collectionId`     | `string`                                    | Yes      | Webflow CMS collection ID.                                                |
| `fieldData`        | `Webflow.CollectionItemPostSingleFieldData` | No       | Fields for one item. `name` and `slug` are required. Use this or `items`. |
| `isArchived`       | `boolean`                                   | No       | Creates the single item as archived.                                      |
| `isDraft`          | `boolean`                                   | No       | Creates the single item as a draft.                                       |
| `items`            | `Webflow.CollectionItemPostSingle[]`        | No       | Items to create in one request. Use this or the single-item fields.       |
| `skipInvalidFiles` | `boolean`                                   | No       | Skips invalid file values instead of rejecting the request.               |

Provide either the single-item fields (`fieldData`, `isArchived`, and `isDraft`) or `items`, not both.

## Output

Returns an object with the fields below. Automate.ax converts provider `Date` values to ISO 8601 strings.
